There is a great video out there about it and TLDW, its only use is if you pass a window the zombie has a slightly less chance of seeing you, but if u r in the open, forget it.
Negative Traits That Can Go Away :: Project Zomboid General Discussions This list will show you my personal favorites and make you think of some traits you didnt consider before. The mechanics are complicated but a few levels in nimble/lightfooted largely nullify clumsy, and being in stealth gives zombies a chance to ignore your footstep sounds on top of that. Might as well take some extra points if you have to eat a lot anyway. This trait is pretty good for exactly the same reasons as underweight. The only opinion I disagree with is thin-skinned. Want an overweight lumberjack? By rejecting non-essential cookies, Reddit may still use certain cookies to ensure the proper functionality of our platform. Yes good call with the Thin-skinned. Lastly, the bonus that thick skin provides is so negligible that its not worth the points. I never play without it. Don't take it if you're planning on using an axe as a main weapon.
What are the best negative traits for any playthrough in project zomboid? Can't add to the post as i am newbut thank you:-). Strong, Thick Skinned, Outdoorsman Keen Hearing traits fall under positive traits. 1- More harm than good, either because it costs too many points, doesnt give enough for what it is, or because it may get you killed. A great one to take with pacifist is Fast Learner as it will end up in a net positive multiplier for weapons. 142. Gymnast 4/5. -1 Fitness. Not exact numbers, but a zombie that has a 100% chance to see you on a tile per tick with inconspicuous might only have a 92% chance.
Best Traits in Project Zomboid - Apex Hosting I would put Keen Hearing way higher. Sure, reading will be a bit slower that normal but when you can triple the speed of the game whenever you wish to skip the reading, it doesnt really matter. Play deaf, it's 12 free points. Foraging is useful. Farming isnt too difficult to level, either. High Thirst is easily fixed with a bottle of water. Overweight stops you from taking fitness bonuses, but underweight reduces your fitness by one. Way more than exercise. .s5ap8yh1b4ZfwxvHizW3f{color:var(--newCommunityTheme-metaText);padding-top:5px}.s5ap8yh1b4ZfwxvHizW3f._19JhaP1slDQqu2XgT3vVS0{color:#ea0027} This one will really depend on the type of character you want to play and which version of the game you are playing. Thanks for posting your list! Iron Gut: Easy 1/5. More experienced players may find the points spent better elsewhere instead. Fitness is essential if you enjoy living. Rather than the game auto slowing down from fast forward when you get attacked from behind, the game will auto slow down when a zombie enters that short circle behind your character that you get with keen hearing.
Project Zomboid Best Traits: Which positive and negative traits - VG247 Foraging will keep you well fed thru summer and trapping will keep you fed thru winter. Handy - little carpentry boost, considering additional construction health there won't be random hordes of zombies coming to your base late into the game, so no real need for more durable constructions in SP. Also makes vehicles louder. One decent trait for getting a couple of points back is of course slow reader. Brave will cost 4 so you will essentially get a free point and not too much risk of panic. Then again it isnt the worst thing in the world to only be restricted to large houses at the start of the game. Impacts combat a lot less than you'd think, especially since your character panics no matter what when they see a horde early-game.
Negative Traits That Can Go Away :: Project Zomboid Will actually help prevent car accidents. ._1EPynDYoibfs7nDggdH7Gq{margin-bottom:8px;position:relative}._1EPynDYoibfs7nDggdH7Gq._3-0c12FCnHoLz34dQVveax{max-height:63px;overflow:hidden}._1zPvgKHteTOub9dKkvrOl4{font-family:Noto Sans,Arial,sans-serif;font-size:14px;line-height:21px;font-weight:400;word-wrap:break-word}._1dp4_svQVkkuV143AIEKsf{-ms-flex-align:baseline;align-items:baseline;background-color:var(--newCommunityTheme-body);bottom:-2px;display:-ms-flexbox;display:flex;-ms-flex-flow:row nowrap;flex-flow:row nowrap;padding-left:2px;position:absolute;right:-8px}._5VBcBVybCfosCzMJlXzC3{font-family:Noto Sans,Arial,sans-serif;font-size:14px;font-weight:400;line-height:21px;color:var(--newCommunityTheme-bodyText)}._3YNtuKT-Is6XUBvdluRTyI{position:relative;background-color:0;color:var(--newCommunityTheme-metaText);fill:var(--newCommunityTheme-metaText);border:0;padding:0 8px}._3YNtuKT-Is6XUBvdluRTyI:before{content:"";position:absolute;top:0;left:0;width:100%;height:100%;border-radius:9999px;background:var(--newCommunityTheme-metaText);opacity:0}._3YNtuKT-Is6XUBvdluRTyI:hover:before{opacity:.08}._3YNtuKT-Is6XUBvdluRTyI:focus{outline:none}._3YNtuKT-Is6XUBvdluRTyI:focus:before{opacity:.16}._3YNtuKT-Is6XUBvdluRTyI._2Z_0gYdq8Wr3FulRLZXC3e:before,._3YNtuKT-Is6XUBvdluRTyI:active:before{opacity:.24}._3YNtuKT-Is6XUBvdluRTyI:disabled,._3YNtuKT-Is6XUBvdluRTyI[data-disabled],._3YNtuKT-Is6XUBvdluRTyI[disabled]{cursor:not-allowed;filter:grayscale(1);background:none;color:var(--newCommunityTheme-metaTextAlpha50);fill:var(--newCommunityTheme-metaTextAlpha50)}._2ZTVnRPqdyKo1dA7Q7i4EL{transition:all .1s linear 0s}.k51Bu_pyEfHQF6AAhaKfS{transition:none}._2qi_L6gKnhyJ0ZxPmwbDFK{transition:all .1s linear 0s;display:block;background-color:var(--newCommunityTheme-field);border-radius:4px;padding:8px;margin-bottom:12px;margin-top:8px;border:1px solid var(--newCommunityTheme-canvas);cursor:pointer}._2qi_L6gKnhyJ0ZxPmwbDFK:focus{outline:none}._2qi_L6gKnhyJ0ZxPmwbDFK:hover{border:1px solid var(--newCommunityTheme-button)}._2qi_L6gKnhyJ0ZxPmwbDFK._3GG6tRGPPJiejLqt2AZfh4{transition:none;border:1px solid var(--newCommunityTheme-button)}.IzSmZckfdQu5YP9qCsdWO{cursor:pointer;transition:all .1s linear 0s}.IzSmZckfdQu5YP9qCsdWO ._1EPynDYoibfs7nDggdH7Gq{border:1px solid transparent;border-radius:4px;transition:all .1s linear 0s}.IzSmZckfdQu5YP9qCsdWO:hover ._1EPynDYoibfs7nDggdH7Gq{border:1px solid var(--newCommunityTheme-button);padding:4px}._1YvJWALkJ8iKZxUU53TeNO{font-size:12px;font-weight:700;line-height:16px;color:var(--newCommunityTheme-button)}._3adDzm8E3q64yWtEcs5XU7{display:-ms-flexbox;display:flex}._3adDzm8E3q64yWtEcs5XU7 ._3jyKpErOrdUDMh0RFq5V6f{-ms-flex:100%;flex:100%}._3adDzm8E3q64yWtEcs5XU7 .dqhlvajEe-qyxij0jNsi0{color:var(--newCommunityTheme-button)}._3adDzm8E3q64yWtEcs5XU7 ._12nHw-MGuz_r1dQx5YPM2v,._3adDzm8E3q64yWtEcs5XU7 .dqhlvajEe-qyxij0jNsi0{font-size:12px;font-weight:700;line-height:16px;cursor:pointer;-ms-flex-item-align:end;align-self:flex-end;-webkit-user-select:none;-ms-user-select:none;user-select:none}._3adDzm8E3q64yWtEcs5XU7 ._12nHw-MGuz_r1dQx5YPM2v{color:var(--newCommunityTheme-button);margin-right:8px;color:var(--newCommunityTheme-errorText)}._3zTJ9t4vNwm1NrIaZ35NS6{font-family:Noto Sans,Arial,sans-serif;font-size:14px;line-height:21px;font-weight:400;word-wrap:break-word;width:100%;padding:0;border:none;background-color:transparent;resize:none;outline:none;cursor:pointer;color:var(--newRedditTheme-bodyText)}._2JIiUcAdp9rIhjEbIjcuQ-{resize:none;cursor:auto}._2I2LpaEhGCzQ9inJMwliNO,._42Nh7O6pFcqnA6OZd3bOK{display:inline-block;margin-left:4px;vertical-align:middle}._42Nh7O6pFcqnA6OZd3bOK{fill:var(--newCommunityTheme-button);color:var(--newCommunityTheme-button);height:16px;width:16px;margin-bottom:2px} Pair with cowardly (or agoraphobic) and you have a very speedy character. if(typeof ez_ad_units!='undefined'){ez_ad_units.push([[336,280],'setreadygame_com-leader-1','ezslot_15',114,'0','0'])};__ez_fad_position('div-gpt-ad-setreadygame_com-leader-1-0'); Along with this you have the option to pick up the positive trait known as Brave. My attempt at a meta build had underweight and athletic in the same build; like you said the massive benefit kicks in at 9.
Again you probably don't know how detection works in the game. Everything in this skill is either learned quickly through the foraging skill, or through a fairly easy to find magazine. Conspicuous: 3/5. High Thirst (water is trivial unless you have month-long drought) Underweight (just gorge yourself on perishable food before the power goes out) Hemophobic (just wash your clothes) Smoker (this is a positive trait disguised as a negative one) Prone to Illness (free points; just don't sit out in the rain naked for hours) One of them is asthmatic, which I don't think should be too much of an issue if I'm going for a stealth build. Create an account to follow your favorite communities and start taking part in conversations. Only worth taking if you have slow modded vehicles. Maintenance and carpentry are essential skills. Unlike in real life, being a smoker in Project Zomboid is not all that bad and doesn't cause any health risks. These skills suck as short blunt and spear will take longer to gain levels in. In a game where getting injured has a high chance of death, you won't want to get hurt often anyway. Don't really need it if you have a profession that gives maintenance though. Prone to illness + outdoorsman somewhat cancel out for +2 points. Each trait takes a certain amount of points away from the player's total of points, so they will also need to select negative traits to balance trait point count. I always take wakeful so I have more time for zombie stomping in a day. Though all of them are useful in their own ways, the following traits are the best to pick up.

I'm definitely not confident or patient enough to play that character yet, though! Yes thats right. Organized also increases storage size of backpacks and shelving and whatnot. It's good, but even at max speed boost you can be wasting hours of your real life into this game by taking this trait instead of Fast Reader. Just carry 2 filled bottles around with you and you wont notice this trait. It's great, I don't know why you think it's bad. Just confirming what you stated about keen hearing.

Traits - PZwiki I think speed demon also increases your gas consumption so thats yet another reason not to take it. The ones that can be remedied are, from the top of my head: Very Underweight, Underweight, Overweight, Obese - all weight ones can be managed through nutrition intake, Out of shape, unfit - by training fitness. But at that point you might as well give your character 2 extra points in the settings. Not worth it, dexterous is too useful, and the 400% transfer rate is insane. Getting into a zombie's line-of-sight is almost always a bad idea, so this perk hurts newer players a lot more than it hurts experienced players. I agree that dexterous is mandatory and I couldnt play without it. I don't see very many discussions on this topic, and the wikis are barren with which traits can go away aside from those as a result of the recent Fitness update. In order to survive, you do have to put in a little more effort, but you earn more points in return. Kinda boring to sit through, though. First Aid is such a brokenly bad skill it shouldn't even be in the game currently. Description - Increases reading speed and takes less time for books. Napkin math puts all of that together as +42 trait points that either can be worked off or will eventually become irrelevant. @keyframes ibDwUVR1CAykturOgqOS5{0%{transform:rotate(0deg)}to{transform:rotate(1turn)}}._3LwT7hgGcSjmJ7ng7drAuq{--sizePx:0;font-size:4px;position:relative;text-indent:-9999em;border-radius:50%;border:4px solid var(--newCommunityTheme-bodyTextAlpha20);border-left-color:var(--newCommunityTheme-body);transform:translateZ(0);animation:ibDwUVR1CAykturOgqOS5 1.1s linear infinite}._3LwT7hgGcSjmJ7ng7drAuq,._3LwT7hgGcSjmJ7ng7drAuq:after{width:var(--sizePx);height:var(--sizePx)}._3LwT7hgGcSjmJ7ng7drAuq:after{border-radius:50%}._3LwT7hgGcSjmJ7ng7drAuq._2qr28EeyPvBWAsPKl-KuWN{margin:0 auto} Plus the fact that each of them gives you 10 whole points to spend on skills is wild.

Im not sure why you rate hiker and gardener so highly. Useful for stealth, but you can always just stop moving to avoid making sound. Otherwise, 5 free points. Gymnast - lightfooted helps with stealth which is meh, so it's 5 points for nimble, but it's totally worth. Always love learning the little quirks like this in the game. If an attack is blocked the damage is simply negated. Positive traits in Project Zomboid give players a specific advantage. This is honestly a very great perk worth considering, especially for only 4 points. Possibly the most harmful traits you can take. If you're an experienced driver with a PC that can run the game well you are simply NEVER going to die to Speed Demon, and the increase in acceleration speeds up gameplay; particularly when it comes to towing. These two are weird.

In order to start playing, your points must have a total of 0. You still can hear zombies that are sneaking up on you if you're actually listening to the game, the sound is just a bit muffled. It doesn't just make noises louder for you, but specifically gives you eyes at the back of your head (short range). What are traits in Project Zomboid? Funnily enough this is the one negative trait that actually includes a little positive effect as well. Useful skill, but its hard to justify spending 5 points on this. 4 points, too. Taking the Fire Officer profession with one of these allows you to take underweight without affecting the bonuses of high level strength and fitness. ._3oeM4kc-2-4z-A0RTQLg0I{display:-ms-flexbox;display:flex;-ms-flex-pack:justify;justify-content:space-between} New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast, The subreddit for Project Zomboid. If you manage to level up your fitness level a couple of points you wont see the effect of these traits at all. I'd rather level up dancing or piano (an actual mod skill). New players are going to be better off with thick-skinned as it makes the game just a little bit more forgiving. Plus, you can easily speed the process up by hitting the fast-forward button at the top of your screen. Athletic has an edge over strong, as exhaustion is a killer.
